I just KNEW I was going to jinx myself with yesterday’s post about how healthy the twins are right now. Guess what? Carson woke up with a high fever and stayed home with me while Kate went to Miss Jennifer’s. Yep. Screwed myself on that one.
I’m not sure what is wrong with Carson. He was so sad and pathetic looking this morning — just draped across Mark. We came back to the house after dropping off Miss Priss, and the two of us napped in the middle of the living room floor like two cats. I woke up after 2 hours, but Carson slept until 11:30. The highest his temperature got was 105.3! I took him to Wal-Mart (when you are out of toilet paper, milk and Diet Coke you must go even with a sick kid), and he cat napped again in the car. Now all of a sudden his temp is back to normal and he is being his normal self.
This is the mental checklist from this morning…
- Poop normal? Yes
- Teething? I don’t think so.
- Eating well? Yes
- Cold or congestion? No
- Throwing-up? No
Strange. I guess kids can sometimes randomly wake up with a high fever and be extremely sleepy for unknown reasons.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get anything on my arm’s length long to-do list done today. Oh well. There’s always tomorrow.

Here is Carson while his temp was at it’s highest this morning. Isn’t he cute for a boy with a 105 fever? And doesn’t he look more and more like a little boy and less like a baby?
