We had a nice weekend here on the home front. It seems like we’ve been gone on the weekend lately, so we enjoyed just hanging at home.
The weekend started out a bit rocky. Kate woke up Saturday morning and started to violently throw up after her morning bottle. It was amazing how much came out of her. Mark and I changed shirts about 3 times each, plus she managed to hit the rug, sofa and our bed. It was so sad. Kate just put her head on my chest and refused to be anywhere else. So Mark took Carson to Home Depot, and Kate and I napped in the middle of the living room floor…

I took off all of her clothes until she was just down to a diaper because she just could not hold anything down.
Once she woke up from her 3 hour nap, she was completely back to normal. Amazing! She held everything down and was in high spirits. I still don’t know the source of the mysterious stomach bug.

Nothing too exciting happened after all of that. We went grocery shopping, we watched a lot of golf on TV (well, Mark did), and I re-arranged the living room furniture. Mark installed the baby locks on the kitchen cabinets — YAY!

I have to admit that after the locks were installed and the twins realized that they could no longer get into them, I did a happy dance accompanied by a slightly evil laugh. The battle over the cabinets is finally over!
Tonight we kept it simple and grilled some steaks.
Kate and Carson are incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful daddy, and I am incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful partner in crime…my friend…my fellow zookeeper (at times).
Happy Father’s Day to all.

The twins have started to hold hands while sitting in their highchairs. They are also passing each other the foods they don’t like — Kate passes over her cheese to Carson, Carson passes over his fruit to Kate.

Kate kinda sorta took her first steps today. She stood on her own and stumbled out two steps and then fell on me. I guess that counts. She isn’t proud of herself the way Carson acts. Kate gives no response or reaction to our clapping and cheering — though we might get a smirk from her.
